Lands Museum was established in 1927 to document and preserve the history of Land municipalities. The museum is located near Dokka village and consists of over 35 historical buildings from the medieval to the 18th century. The museum is also a knowledge centre for nature – and cultural history, and focuses on building preservation and international wetland work. We are also proud to present artistic works from one of Norway’s most talented rococo painters, Peder Aadnes (1779 – 1792).
At the museum you can view our main exhibition “biological diversity in wetland”, and we offer guided tours to our attractions every day during the season. In the museum store and museum cafe we offer unique local products, souvenirs and flavours.
