06.06 |OPENING OF THE MUSEUM

Opening of exhibitions, cafe and souvenir shop.

 

14.06 | INTERNATIONAL WILDFLOWER DAY
11:00 – 15:00

Guided tour among the summer wildflowers. Coffee and cake will be served during the trip. Family friendly and free! Leaving from the museum at 11:00.

 

19.06 – 21.06 | MAKE YOUR OWN BOW ANS ARROW

Archaeologist and Bow maker Ivar Malde, will teach you how to make your own bow and arrow. Everyone can join the course, but children below 13 must be accompanied by an adult. The course lasts from Friday to Saturday evening. Price kr. 2600, including two nights accommodation and dinner on Saturday. Registration within 6th June.

12.07 | DISCOVERING WILD ORCHIDS
11:00 – 15:00

Wetlands with orchids are among our rarest types of nature. Join us on this trip with our experienced botanist, Torbjørn Høitomt. The trip is family friendly and you need to bring your own lunch.

Price kr.170/100. We meet at the Museum.

 

14.07 – 26.07 | MOUNTAIN FARM WEEK

Dairy maids will teach you the traditional way to make butter and cheese, and we have farm animals for you to meet. We serve sour cream porridge, coffee and cake. For more details, see our website.

 

18.07 – 19.07 | HARVEST WITH A SCYTHE

Mats Rosengren is an expert  with the scythe and will teach you the traditional technique.
Price kr. 1800, including accommodation for two nights and dinner on Saturday evening.  Contact us for more information. Registration within 1th July.

 

23.07 | MOUNTAIN FARM CYCLING
10:00 – 16:00

We will cycle among mountain farms and visit some of them, listen to stories.  Bring your own lunch and bike, or contact us if you need to rent a bike. Price kr. 195. Book at least one day before the trip.

 

30.07 | STONE AGE DAY FOR FAMILIES
1200-15:00

Learn about life in a stone age settlement. We will cook food in a cooking pit, make fire and shoot with bow and arrow. Price kr. 195/  (family price). Meet at the museum.

Want to be a better nature photographer? An experienced photographer will teach you the basic techniques. We start at the Museum and after some theory we head for the outdoor to take photos. Bring your own lunch. Price kr. 500. Registration within 4th of September.
